Two Thumbs Wildlife Sanctuary was destroyed during the Black Summer bushfires and the animals who once called this wildlife haven home either lost their lives or their homes.
IFAW has been working to restore the 724-hectare property by encouraging native wildlife to return to the sanctuary. In a world-first, innovative marsupial dens have been installed to help restore it to the sanctuary to its former glory. We are also working to install crucial nest boxes and raptor platforms, augment tree stumps and hollows to create new homes and plant trees for displaced animals and return this sanctuary to a safe haven for wildlife.
The fires that tore through the sanctuary destroyed the hollow logs the animals live in, but these new dens provide a ready-to-move-in solution and provide refuge from climate related events. And, with weather events increasing in frequency and ferocity, it is more important now than ever to ensure this important work continues at Two Thumbs Wildlife Sanctuary, and other affected areas in Australia and around the world, to help protect as many animals as possible.
Your tax-deductible gift can help us continue to provide nest boxes and dens for the animals at Two Thumbs Wildlife Sanctuary, and safe homes for wildlife around the world. Your kind act will do so much.
