Repeated droughts made even more severe due to climate change in southern Africa threaten the survival of hundreds of elephants, along with other precious wildlife. In this land of rich biodiversity, rivers have receded and watering holes have turned to mud, leaving elephants and other wildlife frighteningly thin, hungry, and dehydrated.

That’s why we started our Water is Life project. It’s a bold, innovative solution that can help elephants and other animals survive frequent, more intense drought conditions.

Water Is Life combines hard work and technological innovation to:

  • bring water from boreholes to places where it's needed most.
  • build or repair watering stations so wildlife stays safely away from farmland and human communities.
  • purchase solar panels to modernize water pumps and provide life-saving water to animals and people.

These animals can’t wait. Please make a gift to our Supporter Drive today.
