Devastating flooding in southern Brazil since April 29 has killed over 160 people and displaced hundreds of thousands of residents, with entire cities underwater.
The IFAW supported team from Tamanduás Institute stocked up on animal food and supplies and has just arrived in Rio Grande do Sul to give emergency support to local animal search and rescue efforts in the hardest-hit communities. But the situation is one of uncertainty and fear. Floodwaters are still rising in some areas. Every day brings new reports of water and power shortages.
