Intense rains beginning Saturday, January 9 triggered the worst flooding in 50 years in Borneo. On Friday, January 15, a 6.2 magnitude earthquake hit the island of Sulawesi. And since November 2020, Indonesia’s most active volcano, Mt. Merapi on Java, has been regularly erupting, sending avalanches of hot lava rocks to surrounding communities.
While human relief agencies are helping people in the aftermath of these disasters in Indonesia, the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) is rushing aid to local partners Animal Friends Jogja, CAN Borneo and the Centre for Orangutan Protection. Your gift could help provide the urgent care animals need:
- $100 could help fund search and rescue teams, allowing responders to reach remote areas.
- $50 could help treat an injured animal, saved from flood waters.
- $25 could help feed animals, as responders are distributing food to animals and families sheltering in place.
Your donation will be a gift of life to animals in need, in Indonesia and globally. Please donate today.
