Deadly droughts in southern Africa—worsened by climate change—threaten the survival of hundreds of elephants and other precious wildlife. In this land of rich biodiversity, rivers have receded and watering holes have turned to mud, leaving animals emaciated from lack of food and water.
That’s why we started our Water is Life project. It’s a bold, innovative solution that can help elephants and other animals survive frequent, more intense drought conditions.
Water Is Life combines hard work and technological innovation to:
- bring water from boreholes to places where it's needed most.
- build or repair watering stations so wildlife stays safely away from farmland and local communities.
- purchase solar panels to modernise water pumps and provide life-saving water to animals and people.
Animals in South Africa can’t wait. Please join our Water is Life Emergency Appeal today.
